Offshore MET tower for the Danish market
In week 16 Carl C. A/S, together with the involved collaborators, installed a 87.7 m Carl C. MET tower at Avedøre Holme. About 2 weeks earlier the tower had been assembled by our own installers and prepared with various measuring equipment on the wharf at Avedøre Holme. The tower will be used for wind measurements in an area with a number of wind turbines. The tower is located only approx. 300 m from the coast, which meant extra challenges in terms of crane capacity, as the depth of water here is only approx. 3.5 m. Optimum weather conditions and water level were an essential precondition to solve the task. This meant that Carl C. A/S was standby with the appropriate and flexible manpower for approx. a week, to be ready on short notice when the optimum conditions would come.
Wednesday 21 April at 10.45 am, we were commissioned to carry out the installation of the tower and arrived at the site at 3 pm. We immediately began the installation and at 8.20 pm the task was completed. Another successful project from Carl C. A/S.
