Over the past 20 years, Carl C. A/S has been one of the preferred telecom suppliers in Europe.
Telecommunication started with the NMT system in the 1980s with multiple deliveries to TDC, formerly Statens Teletjeneste. After that, the GSM 900 network was established. Then came GSM 1800, the 3G network, UMTS and the 4G network, LTE.
An increasing demand for mobile telecommunication and access to high-speed Internet services means that telecom companies have had to increase capacity and coverage by expanding their networks with more towers etc. The height of a tower depends on many factors, but usually towers are between 24 and 48 metres in height.
Carl C. A/S supplies many different types of towers for telecommunications purposes.
As an alternative to the lattice tower, we produce several types of tubular structures in the form of false chimneys, flagpoles, etc., whose purpose is to conceal the antennas. This provides more options for placing telecom towers in areas where aesthetics is given high priority, e.g. to meet requirements made by landscape architects.
The TEL tower is a slim, three-legged tower typically ranging from 24 to 28 metres in height. This tower was especially developed for the telecom industry. This tower is a further development of our very popular series 16 which has been widely used since 1990.
Telecom companies in Denmark have preferred this tower and use it as their standard tower throughout Denmark. This means that it is a well-tested product which has been supplied in great numbers since 2008.
The advantages of the TEL tower lie in its slim, triangular design which is always fully optimised to meet the application concerned. At the same time, most of the tower consists of solid round-steel bars which, in combination with the slim design, make the tower appear almost invisible in the landscape.
As tubes are only used very sparingly, wind noise from open profiles is not a problem.
We offer the tower in a strong version for installation near coastal areas.
We offer and install a range of ladders and cabling in our towers.
As an alternative to our lattice tower, we provide tubular towers ranging in standard heights from 21 to 42 metres. These can be used by one or more operators.
Telecom companies in Denmark have used our tubular towers at many sites all over Denmark, which means that the product has been tried and tested over several years.
The advantages of the tubular tower are its slim, rounded design that makes the tower appear light and elegant and conceals cabling completely. Therefore, the appearance of the tubular tower differs from a lattice tower and may be used in situations where lattice towers are not wanted.
The tubular tower comes with a hot-dip galvanised finish, but can also be painted to achieve a completely uniform exterior. Access ladders can also be installed for easy access to the aerials.
Flagpoles can be used in locations wherever a discreet solution is required, e.g. in residential or holiday-cottage areas.
Since 2008, flagpoles have been used in great numbers by the telecom industry and are therefore a tried and tested product.
Our standard flagpoles are available in three different diameters: Ø160, Ø229 and Ø273 and ranging in heights from 14 to 23 metres. Panel antennas for one or more operators are installed at the top and concealed by styrene panels in the same colour as the flagpole. Alternatively, a tri-sector radome antenna can be installed at the top of the flagpole in the same colour as the flagpole. We also supply oversized flagpole tops which have the capacity to house a mini-link, if required.
The Flagpoles are painted white with a red knob and functions perfectly as a regular Flagpole with line and flag.
Flagpoles can be installed on standard bored concrete piles or on a ScrewFast foundation, which ensures shorter installation times and enables easier restoration of the area.
Our telescopic Turbo tower is a top-quality product designed for professional use in locations where function, quality and service life are high priorities. Our telescopic Turbo tower comes with a maximum height of 21 metres and consists of three sections as well as a tilt section.
The tilt section is used to raise the tower from its horizontal position to its vertical position after which it is ready to be extended to its full height. All functions are carried out using electric winches.
All tower sections are equipped with corrosion-resistant rollers to ensure very precise movement. When the sections hit their top position, they are locked into place to prevent play.
Our telescopic Turbo tower can be used as a stationary tower where easy access is required to adjust or replace equipment at the top of the tower. The tower can also be used for mobile-network purposes in telecommunications, monitoring etc.
False chimneys are used where a concealed solution for up to four operators is required. This is an innovative new product that has been used by the telecommunication industry since 2010.
The advantages of the Chimney tower lies in its slim and rounded design that allows concealed antennas and cabling. Our false chimneys are made of tubular steel which, with their light grey painted surface, make the chimney blend in seamlessly with the surrounding landscape.
False chimneys are available in heights of up to 42 metres and have the same diameter from base to top of Ø813 mm. The top 12 metres is divided into four sections of three metres each. This allows each operator space for panel antennas and mini-links. The antennas are concealed by coloured styrene panels which do not impair antenna performance.
